The house is a fantastic old farm house set in the heart of the small village of Idrsko. It sleeps 8 (10 inc. sofa bed) but can be booked for a minimum or 4 people (priced per person per night). The house was newly renovated 2 years ago but retains a lovely old feel particularly as most of the furniture is beautifully restored antiques. The exterior walls are 2 foot thick which makes is lovely and cool in the heat of the summer and cosy in the winter. The house is just off the road that runs along the Soca valley and so is perfect for accessing all the activities in the region. The exterior of the house shows its age (it will be painted soon!) and does not refelct the comfort and standard inside. The interior of the house is pretty and spacious with light rooms and beautiful, restored furniture. The amenities are:
4 bedrooms - 3 twins and 1 double. There is also a Sofa bed in the living room. Bedding is duvets
Bathroom with bath, shower over bath, sink and toilet
Living room with dining table, 2 sofas and and arm chair. There is an extra sofa in the hall and a TV with DVD player. There is no signal to the TV so it is only for playing DVDs.
Kitchen with gas and electric hob, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, fridge, feeezer, double sink and lots of crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment.
The house is rated as 2 star so not luxurious but very comfortable and is an excellent base for an outward bound holiday. For photos of the interior and exterior CLICK HERE.
The village is a working village so you gain the full experience of living in rural Slovenia. There is one bar/restaurant and I have been told that you can buy local produce (cheese) from some of the houses but I haven't worked out which ones yet.
For grocery shopping there is a large supermaket (Mercato) in Tolmin, about 15 minutes drive away but you can also purchase most of what you may need from Kobarid, about 5 minutes drive.
